<Happily-ever-after>는 동화책이나 영화에서 종종 등장하는 ‘오래오래 행복하게 살았답니다’라는 문장에서 비롯된다. 이 문장은 이야기의 마무리를 의미하며, 그 이후의 모든 사건은 중요하지 않거나, 덧붙여지지 않은 채로 끝을 맺는다. 그러나 이 작업에서는 바로 그 지점에서 기억과 과거가 재구성되고 변형되는 과정을 탐구한다. ‘Happily-ever-after’는 일반적으로 결말을 의미하지만, 이 작업에서는 그 이후의 과정과 기억의 왜곡을 다루는 출발점으로 사용된다. 동화 속 이야기처럼 과거의 기억은 종종 완결된 이야기로 만들어지지만, 그 뒤의 진짜 이야기는 존재하지 않거나 변형되어 기억 속에 스며든다. 본 작업은 작가의 더빙과 사운드 디자인을 통해, 기억과 경험이 허구의 내러티브로 재구성되고 진실의 틈새가 허구로 메워지는 과정을 보여준다. 따라서 <Happily-ever-after>는 단순한 해피엔딩을 넘어서, 우리가 기억하는 과거를 어떻게 변화시키고 왜곡할 수 있는지, 그리고 그 변형된 과거가 우리가 이해하는 현실에 어떤 영향을 미치는지를 탐구하는 작업이다.

    Happily-ever-after comes from the sentence "We lived happily for a long time" that often appears in fairy tale books and movies. This sentence means the end of the story, and all subsequent events end with no significance or addition. However, in this work, it explores the process by which memories and pasts are reconstructed and transformed at that very point. "Happily-ever-after" generally means an ending, but in this work, it is used as a starting point for dealing with the subsequent process and memory distortion. Like a story in a fairy tale, memories of the past are often made into complete stories, but the real stories behind them do not exist or are transformed and permeate into memories. This work shows the process by which memories and experiences are reconstructed into fictional narratives and gaps in truth are filled with fiction through the artist's dubbing and sound design. Therefore, Happily-ever-after is a work that goes beyond a simple happy ending, and explores how we can change and distort the past we remember, and how the transformed past affects the reality we understand.
