<Flicker of Yellow>는 빛의 불규칙한 깜빡임을 통해 기억의 불안정성과 단속적인 회상을 사유한다. '무언가를 잊어버렸다'는 상황을 흔히 '깜빡했다'라고 표현하는데, 이는 단순한 망각이 아니라 찰나적 단절과 순간적인 공백을 전제한다. 이 언어적 관습은 기억이 지속적으로 이어지는 흐름이 아니라, 언제든 끊기고 흔들릴 수 있는 불안정한 과정임을 드러낸다.빛의 깜빡임은 바로 이 일상 언어의 층위와 겹치며, 기억의 흔들림과 사라짐, 그리고 불시에 되돌아오는 회상의 리듬을 은유한다. 종이의 물성과 더불어 제시되는 바람과 파편화된 조각들은 기억이 온전히 보존되지 못하고 언제나 훼손된 채 도착한다는 점을 환기한다. 이때 종이인형은 작가의 페르소나로서, 연약한 매체적 조건과 주체의 불안정성을 중첩시킨다.

This linguistic custom reveals that memory is not a continuous flow, but an unstable process that can be broken and shaken at any time. The flickering of light overlaps with the layers of this everyday language, and it metaphorizes the shaking of memory, disappearance, and rhythm of flashbacks that return unexpectedly. In addition to the physical properties of the paper, the wind and fragmented pieces presented remind us that the memory is not fully preserved and always arrives damaged. At this time, the paper doll is the artist's persona, overlapping the fragile media conditions and the subject's instability.
